So I recently had my eyes checked and when I went into the room with the optometrist I went to another place where other women were being tested for glaucoma. But he did what I saw the balloon go in and out of focus. What should this test measure? Thank you very much
She is a self refractor. Measure the required power in your glasses / contact lenses.
The ball is there so that your eyes can focus.
Automatic refractor is not perfect. Your optometrist can follow up with the proprietor (see my source for photos). Slow optometrists often do not object to this second stage.
